Yes, it is illegal to modify your headlamp according to the Road Transport Department. Even installing a non-compliance hid kits on your car is considered illegal.

It is very irritating when in-coming cars in front of you are using the super glaring white color beam on their cars… it is almost like the projector’s beam… it can blind anyone temporary… and it can cause accident too.

Yesterday, while going home after the GI Joe – The Rise of Cobra movie around 11.30pm, there was a road-block by the Road Transport Department near my home. I hope they are not only looking for those driving without license but to catch those using illegal headlamp system… :P
