Managing your networks remotely with EMS

network, remote management

Organization with branch offices which have server at their branch will put their system and network administrators a hard time managing servers.  When IT installations such as server encounter a problem, it is not easy to perform troubleshooting without going to the site.

But with today’s technology like the Uplogix Envoy Management Station (EMS), IT administrators are not necessary to be on site to perform troubleshooting. Uplogix Envoy centralizes point of control and delivers real-time monitoring and management capabilities, offering a unified view of what’s occurring in the distributed infrastructure. Network administrators can monitor connectivity, fix problems, automate maintenance tasks, and log changes for the entire network from one location. To ensure security, Uplogix Envoy employs the strongest security, encryption, and authentication standards for communications between the sites.

Checking what’s new at car accessories shop

accessories, car, car accessories, life

First we went to one which is a block away from where we had our breakfast. Then we proceeded to Lintas Square. We stroll at 3 car accessories shops there… but nothing new… boring… then decided to go to Putatan. Along the way, we stop at another shop which is on the other side of Lido.

While there, I saw the tiny car… I saw it many times on the road but never closed to it… not bad… good for crusing around doing nothing I guess.

But look at the price… RM90K… that’s about USD$25K

Then we proceeded to Putatan… to Fuji Car Accessories. I guess this is the biggest car accessories in town at the moment.

No work today

food, life

Today no work… it’s public holiday today. I woke up around 6.30am… then continued sleeping until a friend called around 11.00am for breakfast and to go some places. I get ready and went to pick him.

We had our breakfast at Taman Chantek near Lido. I had my favorite Kon Low Mee with pork meat… then added another bowl of noodle… one bowl is not enough.

After breakfast we went to some car accessories shops… well, just to update our self with what available in the market now…

Dim-Sum containers.

This time, the workshop was at Tyang Dynasty Hotel, Kota Kinabalu. The best part, my room was at 10th floor facing the flyover. I have some great pictures to show later… 😀

Scarry High Tide at Tuaran Beach Resort

tuaran beach resort

On the night of 28 November 2007, the night before our annual workshop, at around 11pm, we were instructed by the resort management to shift our vehicles to a higher ground. Gosh… are we going to be hit by tsunami? We got panic a bit when the news broke… Actually, a week before, the resort was flooded with sea water. They said, on that day, the waves were so high until the sea waters spills into the resort and flooded it for about 2 feet of sea water. Their swimming pool water is replaced with sea water… so much sand inside the pool.

Luckily, nothing bad happened that night. The waves was not so high, only a bit of sea water splashed into the resort ground and but it manage to go back to the sea through the drain.

The photos below shows the waves hitting the ‘sea wall’. In normal day, the ‘wall’ is more than 7 feets high… but here, it shows the sea level is almost as high as the resort ground.
