Do Not Leave Your IC Behind

personal security

Should you leave your identification card or other ID to the security guard at the counter manning the building or area when entering their premises? The answer is NO! The minister (Malaysia) has issued an instruction to all security company not to retain anyone’s ID. Although their reason to retain the ID is for recording purposes, the Minister said, they can just copy the necessary information they require.

No one should ever be parted with their ID especially the National Identification Card or IC or MyKAD. Imagine if your IC or MyKAD falls at the wrong hand. Or, imagine if you encounter a problem while your IC or MyKAD is not with you.

It is official… DO NOT LEAVE YOUR IC BEHIND!.. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR MyKAD BEHIND!

0% Credit Cards

credit cards

Credit card is a must when purchasing goods through online shopping. Alternatively you can use other payment method such as check. But check requires a few days for snail mail and bank clearance. Thus it is not as smooth as credit cards which are almost instantaneous.

Because of online shopping, credit card applications have been increasing every year. Some financial institutions are offering 0% purchase credit cards as an introductory benefit. And some are offering balance transfers from your existing credit card balance with zero percent interest.

My opinion is the best number of credit cards to hold is two cards. Having two cards will provide you with a backup card just incase any one of the card is encountering problem. And when spending using credit cards, always remember to spend what you can afford to pay later.

Tired and Lazy

life, shabandar, tuaran beach resort, work

I’m so lazy to write for the past few days… or a week. It was quite tiring to be part of our organizing committee for our annual workshop. Last Wednesday, 28 November 2007, I went to Tuaran Beach Resort. I followed Darius’ VIGO 4×4. I left the office around 1PM for home to do my packing. I have not pack a single item for the 3 days workshop… which ended on Saturday, 1 December 2007… which happened to be the opening of the F2000 Speed Boat challenge at Kota Kinabalu.

Darius picked me just after 2PM. I have not taken my lunch so we stopped at Lido to buy ‘goreng pisang’… wanted to take-away KFC, but the resort is providing lunch. And of course while at Lido, I bought some JackPot at TOTO which did not strike any prize 🙁

Then we detour to KPIM Complex to take some of the workshop materials to take along with us.

We arrived at the Tuaran Beach Resort around 4PM… and straight away dived into the food! Two other colleagues arrived almost at the same time with us. They are in charge of the accommodations and we will be in charge of multimedia/sound/photography.

After the workshop, I have loads of works waiting at the office… all are last-minutes request… that caused me more lazy to write… anyway, I will do some photo posting of our workshop later.

Something unexpected… a buffalo (or kerbau or kalabau) running across the road dragging along some trees hooked on its rope which is tied on its neck. Then we saw a bunch of people inside a truck chasing after it… they must be going to slaughter the buffalo.

The journey…

The challenging 2KM journey…

blog, life, tag

OK, I was tagged by BoBby So on humanitarian ground, I have no choice but to do it…

The rules is simple…
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.
2. List eight (8) random facts about yourself.
3. Tag eight people at the end of this post and list their names.
4. Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving them a comment on their blogs

OK lah… 8 random facts about… who ever I think of… not necessary me… ha ha ha…

Day 5 – AD… final day…

Active Directory, AD

On Friday, it was a bit rushing… we were rushing to setup 2 new virtual machines… not new exactly, just 2 new cloned vpc. During lunch, went to Karamunsing Complex… looks like Karamunsing Complex is already in Christmas mood 😀

After lunch, we had our test. It was quite tough… and as usual, my handwriting will be worse than the doctor’s handwriting… I hate writing… why can’t we use the PC and just print out our answer…

Our MCSE… she is marking our answer papers…

I don’t remember if this guy is in our class or not…

Where are the girls?… only the MCSE ‘marker’… all are 15 guys + 1 guy lecturer… it’s hard to find girls in System Course…

Hah… its 10.14am… the Sony T200 is so sharp yea… 😀 That’s my 10 years old MR-G G-Shock Limited Edition… all the resin rubber arround it are gone… I think it was $650++ when I bought it at Centre Point in 1997… or was it 1996…

Day 4 – AD… missed most of the morning lesson :(

Active Directory, AD

On Thursday, there was a meeting for our year end workshop, so I have to get to the office by 8.30am. But I slept around 2.30am and wakes up at 7.00am on that morning… which is not cool at all. I was feeling sleepy through out the meeting and class. And by evening, I started getting headache… dammm… I was like walking on air. I went home immediately after the class and had a short nap too kill my headache… which went away after the short nap.

I did not have the chance to eat the class morning foods because I had my breakfast at the meeting. According to the rest, the foods were fantastic… no more salty foods. And I missed the backup and restore lesson… ooohh well… what to do lah…
