Transferring car ownership hassle

blog

Do you know that, if you want to transfer ownership of a car… a car which already has an owner… you have to get certification from PUSPAKOM?.. Yes, you really need their approval, not only for commercial vehicle but including private vehicle now.

Yesterday, I spent most of my time outside doing just that. In the morning around 9am, we send the car to PUSPAKOM. First, you get a form and a queue number from the counter. Then you must quickly fill-up the form… well yesterday were not many people around. When you queue number is called, you return the form and pay $30 for another form which is used to inspect your car.

Then bring the car into the queue for inspection. Lucky there are not many car in the queue… it’s like we are the 5th car in the queue. They said the queue normally very long. Then the car gets inspected after waiting in the queue for almost an hour. They check the chassis and engine numbers… make sure it is clean so that the numbers are visible. They opened some part of the rubber on the car door frame. This is to check if your vehicle is a joined vehicle… or half-cut… or ‘kereta potong’.
That’s all the inspections they did… I see some other vehicles being inspected more than that. Took out the car from the queue and park it. So, far it took use one and half hour. Then waited for the report’s result… that was like another half hour. Finally, we got our pass or LULUS report. Then the next stage was JPJ… where we have to go through queue after queue.

Secured and Unsecured Loan

blog

Sometimes, our monthly savings are not good enough when we need extra funds, the time when we really need it. The only option to get extra funds is through loan. But don’t get loan from unlicensed money lender… you surely get into trouble when you have problem with it later. Get unsecured loans where no collateral is needed from a reputable financial agency for your personal.

Another reason to get loan is when you need to do renovation or extension to your home. Homeowner loans are easier since you can use your existing home as your collateral to get the extra fund for your home improvements or consolidating your debts. With your home as the collateral, there is more chance that you will get accepted for a loan.

My website is back online

blog

When I woke up around 6.30am today, I immediately check my website… ooomygaawd… everything is inaccessible!!!

Checked my email… ooomygaawd… one of my paid posts is rejected because they can’t access the URL I provided!!! damm…

I immediately open exabytes support site… open a ticket telling them my site is inaccessible. Then went to take my shower… when I finish my shower 10 minutes later, I check my mail… cool… exabytes replied already.

This is the second time I opened tickets with exabytes. The first time was about the slowness in my website which was actually caused by none other then streamyx connection from KK to KL. I would say that exabytes 24×7 support is 1st class… they will reply to you so fast that it feels like you are chatting with them… lol

Back to the reply, the email said the web service has been restarted. So I tried accessing swordbomber.com… cool it’s there. Tried swordie.swordbomber.com, oooomaaaan… still can’t. I tried accessing some of my pictures directly through its URL, cool its opening.

So, I replied back… telling about it. About 20 minutes later, I received another reply, it said “there are misconfigurations on the DNS, we had restored it.’… I’m not surprised with the answer… coz I was the one who modified the DNS last night… ha ha ha ha… clever me…  so I tried accessing it again… still the same, can’t access. Well, it takes times for the DNS to replicate or update, so I went to work.

When I reach the office, I tried accessing my website… cool… everything are back to normal… back to business 🙂

Mortgages the only way to get home

blog

After working for about 7 years, I decided to buy a house. I applied my housing loan from my office since that is one of the benefits given to me. Any mortgages applied from our office will be forwarded to our panels of financial agency. Everything is applied through forms… I remember I filled up 5 A3 size forms… that was not easy thing to do. I wish they have online mortgages application system on that time.

I’ve been paying my mortgage for quite sometimes now. I’m thinking of remortgages my house so that I can get a better interest rate since the economy has improved for the past few years. Maybe I should visit my mortgage provider next week.

Oh… My MAXIS

blog

My MAXIS VIP SIM CardsI’ve been MAXIS post-paid customer for more than 5 years. Suddenly MAXIS become so generous to me… or izzit they want to rip-off my money? Yesterday and today, I received 2 SIM cards delivered through courier.

According to MAXIS who called me, both SIMs carries VIP number… 012-XXXX773. My existing number is a ‘special’ number with the 773 at the back. Both are actually ‘supplementary line’. The monthly rental is $10 without contract… meaning I can terminate it anytime I likes.

Well, I’m thinking of getting the one with the best numbers…

Get Secured Loans, Else…

blog

Last week I burned $10,000.00, not for buying stuff for myself but paying someone else trouble! You see, a family member started a business a couple of years back. I or we were not aware or really don’t know how he manages to get a few personal loans from the banks. On top of that, he also borrows money from ‘along’, the unlicensed money lenders. So, all together his loans come to around $200,000.00, minus the interest.

Recently, his business was not doing well. His repayments are getting late… and the ‘along’ don’t like it… and they are very rough too. He has no way but to ask help from us. So, the moral of the stories is, if you plan to get a loan, be it secured homeowner loan or any other loans, get it from a reputable financial entity.

Lets Have Dinner and Do Some Charity

blog, charity, kesiter, photography

I’ve been waiting for sponsorship of $1,500.00… It is for Charity Dinner by KESITER, sports club of Jabatan Perkhidmatan Komputer Negeri Sabah. Ben and Kupi have blogged about it in their blog few months back. Kupi has asked me to promote it in my blog, so now I’m doing my bits

Today, I received the $1,500.00… it is a sponsorship for one table. The table of 10 will be given to my colleagues… and if they are working hard for me, I will allow them to bring their spouse or partner… ha ha ha…

The proceeds of the charity is to buy some wheelchairs… frankly, I’m not sure what is the target number of wheelchairs… but if you plan to come or sponsor… please check it out at Ben’s blog.

The highlights of the dinner will be the performance by Velvet AF the Malatup! KESITER have to ‘agree’ on certain ‘condition’ by her ‘manager’… one of it is ‘BODYGUARD’… and two of the event organizer told me that…. I can be the BODYGUARD… ha ha ha… no way lah… but if they really serious and they can’t find any… emm… I will think about it… but for now… no way lah…

Back-up data without plan… until plan C + plan D

blog, work

My plan C fail… there were still “toing toing”. Since there was no one interacting with the notebook last night in the office, the process was halted till I reach the office today.

So, this time I made another plan… Plan D. I installed the SyncToy into the new notebook. This will cut 1 process compared to Plan C. I mapped the shared folder in the old notebook into the new notebook. Then I fired SyncToy, created the profile and run it. It went smoothly… until the “toing” appears again. I fixed the “long file name” on the old notebook and re-run the SyncToy… until everything transfered… clap clap clap… wasted almost the whole day checking the notebooks from time to time  to see if it got “toing”…
