On Wednesday, there was a trailer carrying container fell on it right side at Donggongon… specifically at the Montis roundabout. I saw the trailer already lying on its right side on my way to work around 8.30am. At the office, I told my colleague about it. They said, they seen it too… I asked them what time they saw it, they said it was there since 6.30am… so it must be earlier… maybe early in the morning like 5am… Looking at where the trailer heading, it looks like heading to Tambunan or Keningau.

OK, I believe you already get the story by now… right from the people who actually saw it with their own eyes. But imagine if you don’t have any other source… read what published on the newspaper the next day… unless it was a typo error… 3pm instead of 3am… and unless the trailer actually did a 360 degrees spin before it fell!

Today someone asked me to backup or transfer his data from his old notebook to his new notebook. I did not expect some unexpected crop up…

Plan A… I setup both notebook on a network so it can talk to each other. Shared the whole D drive of the old notebook. Old notebook running on XP and the new notebook running on Vista. Explore the old notebook from the new notebook and “drag & drop” all the shared contents into Backup folder in new notebook. It took more than 3 hours to complete the transfer of the 40GB data. The network is running at 100mbps… if I used the WiFi, I think the process will take 8 hours… unfortunately some 90 files were not transfered because their file name are too long… and the worst part, the Vista only tell me there are 90 files not tranfered… damm… there are thousands of files and folder, how am I going to compare the contents in the shortest time.

Plan B… I said, forget about that… I’m going to transfer the file into Network Attached Storage (NAS). Luckily, my 1TB Maxtor NAS arrived yesterday. So, from the old notebook, I just “drag & drop” the contents into the network drive…. unfortunately, the same problem occur… double damm…

Plan C… I remember I have SyncToy in my notebook. From my notebook, I mapped the shared folder from both notebook as drive P: and drive O: on my notebook. Then I fired SyncToy and create a profile to make a mirror image of drive P: to drive O:. Run the profile… cool it’s running very fast… then “toing”… the windows error message appears telling me file x has too long name… so I went to the old notebook and rename it. Then re-run the SyncToy. The “toing” repeated a few more times and I fix the files name everytime it “toing”. I left it running… since it’s already 6.30pm and I need to rush to buy 4D… I just left it running in the office… We’ll see tomorrow if it works….

I wanted to go to clinic after work today for my ulcer in my mouth. It has been pestering me for the past 2 weeks… but since I was rushing around 6pm for the clinic, I left my phone behind at the office… I only realized it after half way home.

My car fuel was already at E… I was planning to top it up tomorrow morning since I’m so tired and wanted to go to the clinic.

At the end, I have to turn back and end up wasting some time at the petrol station before going to the office… just precautionary… who knows the fuel is really at the bottom already.

The clinic was empty… so I did not wait too long… the doctor gave me panadol, anti-biotic and a lotion… paid $35. I hope it won’t turn into fever since my body feels a bit warm today… I need to go to hit 100 golf balls tomorrow morning.

The dragon fly is focused and not the sun or the centre of the picture. How did I do that?.. Although I was using the Canon PowerShot S5 IS which comes with DIGIC III which can focus 9 faces at one time, the dragon fly is not a face.

What I did was, first I focus the dragon fly. While focusing on the dragon fly, the sun is not within my composition. But it’s OK… once the focus is locked to the dragon fly, I turn the camera to the right so that the sunset enter my composition… and that is the result 🙂

I think I can hear the bell’s jingle “cling cling cling… cling cling cling…” already… yea, that’s Santa’s jingle… holiday seasons are getting closer.

During public holidays or weekend, we bunch of friends in the neighborhood normally wake-up very late. Then we just hang out from mid-day till evening at one of our garages and do almost anything from tweaking our car to napping. The garage we hang out most is Mike’s garage.

He has loads of stuff inside his garage including some stuff which looks like garbage to me… but maybe it has sentimental value to him.

Mike kept his garage very neat and clean. He has one small fridge inside the garage so that we don’t have to rush to his kitchen for drinks. But he said he wish he can have garage refrigerator just like this one… for me it looks like a suitcase.
