My New Found Free Image & Photo Editing Software
paint, photos, photoshop June 14th, 2008I’ve talked about my search for photo watermarking application sometime ago. And some suggested Photoshop and GIMP.
I tried Photoshop before, it’s a good tool… in fact too good… probably I only use about 5% of its features.
GIMP is new to me. It is a free photo application. I downloaded and tried it. But like Photoshop, it is too heavy for me. Unless you are really into photo editing, then you can go either buy Photoshop or get a free GIMP.
Why am I talking about this photo editing thingy?… Well, yesterday I found a neat photo editing tools. If you are using Windows, I’m sure you must have tried Paint at least once before.
Paint is my first choice photo editing tools… yea, yea, yea… I know I’m too lame… well Paint gave me the fastest way to edit photos… and it is super light too… it doesn’t consume too much memory.
OK, back to what I wanted to tell you all… The photo editing tools I found yesterday is Paint.Net. Yes it is spelled .NET… This is an extension to Paint… and it is quite advance too.
According to some, it has been compared to Photoshop and GIMP… and the result is it can do most of what these two can do!
And YES, it is FREE too. It was developed and still growing up by students in a special project monitored (mentored?) by Microsoft… who else you think?… LOL
OK, you can go download and try it… I was surprised with its features… it is just like Photoshop :O

I’ve been using his one too. Really cool. They have ‘plugins’ created by users too. Really handy.

Wat plugin do you use?… I think I’m going to promote this software more coz it is .NET and free 😀 … Last night I played with it till 2am, and manage to do all kind of effect… its soo damm cool… just like photoshops but superlight… just nice to those who do not have much memnory or processing power on their PC.

I was checking out paint.net and it looks pretty cool! Did you watermark your photos using paint.net? I couldn’t tell how to watermark photos, I’ve seen every other option but I didn’t see anything on that. Maybe I’ve just overlooked something. Like you, I have been looking for a good program to use to watermark my photos for awhile now.
nope, I use Watermark Factory 2 to watermark my photos. I think to do the watermark in PDN, you need to use the layers… 😀 (29/07/2008)
