i need Worldwide Travel Adaptor

adapter, cigar, montecristo

May is a busy month… early this month, 3rd to 7th, supposed to fly to Philippines for paintball event, but unfortunately the event was cancel… the worse is I already bought the ticket early this year for almost RM500… since it was Air Asia, people said there will be no refund… so I did not bother to get refund… so it was wasted… I guess I just donated to QPR… 😛

This week, 13th to 15th, went to KL for study tour… and from 24th to 30th, I will be flying again… for 6 hour flight… I don’t want to tell where I’m going yet… 😛 For 7 days, I will be off from my usual internet coverage… I’ve research about data line… one cellular operator is giving unlimited roaming data connection for RM38 a day… my cellular operator is offering RM18 for a megabytes… 😛 The unlimited data for RM38 a day is very attractive, but I have to register to get it with contract… there is no prepaid… 😛 Looks like I have to survive with my operator for RM18 for a megabytes…

I’m also wondering about the power supply… I’m will need to charge my smartphone, tablet and cameras… my chargers’ plug will not fit their power socket outlet and I don’t have a proper traveller adapter yet… so last night while on air, I checked the MAS brochure… and they have the Lifetrons Worldwide Travel Adaptor with 2 USB Charging Ports for $36 or RM108… it comes with 1 year worldwide warranty… cool, this is exactly what I want… so I press the ‘calling’ button… TUNGGGGGG… about a minute later the cabin crew came to answer my call… I asked if the item is available… he said, he has to check first… 5 minutes later he came with bad news… no stock… dammm… what’s the point putting it on the brochure if they don’t have it… probably if I ask for montecristo cigars or any of the many perfumes in the brochure, I might have a better luck… but unfortunately, I’m not looking for all those… looks like I have to get the adapter from Karamunsing Complex instead… 😛

6+1 monitors for a notebook

adapter, cards, computer, display, usb, UXGA, video

A friend was asking me the other day if there are possibilities to use multiple monitors on his notebook. I said sure… use a VGA splitter or Video splitter.

But that’s not what he wanted… he wants to display different section of the display on different monitor… duhh…

Well I told him that his notebook already has one VGA port to connect to a bigger monitor.

But no… he wants to use two external monitor… so the setup will be with 3 LCD displays… the notebook LCD screen and two external monitors…

emm… lucky, I’ve seen a device before which can do exactly what he wanted to do… the device is simply called as USB UXGA Adapter by the computer shops… 😛

What exactly is USB 2.0 UXGA Adapter?

Well, it is an external video card or you can also call it as external display card… The adapter, a small electronic box which has an USB port and VGA or DVI or both ports.  To use the video cards adapter, you simply plug in the USB cable from the notebook to one end of the adapter. On the other end of the adapter, connect the monitor’s VGA or DVI cable.

If the adapter’s driver is properly installed, the operating system like Windows should be able to detect the adapter and use it as secondary monitor… or third monitor… the first is the notebook LCD monitor, second is the monitor connected to the VGA port on the notebook and the third is the monitor connected to the USB UXGA Adapter.

You can install up to 6 USB UXGA adapters at one time… provided you have 6 USB 2.0 ports available. And all 6 external monitors should be able to display UXGA resolution at 1600×1200… wow… :O
