close encounter with a train

railway crossing, train, universal joint, video, youtube

On Wednesday, 16 May, there were two incidents I encountered… first is the small fire in the office which I posted earlier… the second is a panic situation at a railway crossing… not really panic, just not sure what’s going on…

OK, the small fire in the office was in the morning… and our encounter with a train was in the evening after we had our tea at Kepayan Low Cost Housing Shop.

On our way back to the office after having tea, there was slight traffic jam before the Sebulan roundabout… just after the tunnel. My colleague was driving and I was sitting at the back… another colleague was sitting at the front. Our car has to stop on the rail track coz cars in front of us have to give way to other cars at the roundabout. Suddenly there was loud siren… the sound is familiar on TV… a siren sound of Japanese attacking. We don’t know where the sound coming from… we were guessing if it an ambulance of fire engine… but it just don’t sound like one.

We were looking around… then we saw the rail track light has turned green… oh crap… usually it is red… that means the train is coming… argggghh… my colleague started reversing, lucky the cars behind gave us room to reverse… then I saw the boom gate coming down… if we did not reverse, the bar will hit right on top of the car… lucky we have enough room to reverse… then the train appears… I open the window and started recording the incoming train…

I can’t imagine how the car gonna look like if it still on the track when the train arrived. The car is less than a ton and the train is like 1000 times heavier than the car. Metals will be crumpled… metal bars universal joint will dislodge… Lucky the train was only going at about 30 km/h…

In the video, the yellow-black bar is the boom gate which was right above our car… right above me. The siren is actually coming from the concrete box right next to the car… you can see that in the video too… but we were wondering, the alarm sound is not the standard railway crossing sound… normally it is the sound of bell… TING TING TING TING TING TING… that’s the reason we can’t figure out what the sound was… if it the bell, then we should’ve be able to identify it right away… 😛 But lucky nothing happen to us… 😀

Elenin @ Nibiru @ Brown Dwarf

best downloader, brown dwarf, catastrophe, destroyer, earth quake, elenin, leo, nibiru, stars constellation, video, virgo, youtube

Do you know how difficult it is to download YouTube videos when you need to download it immediately?… It’s bloody irritating… 😛 There is a YouTube video I wanted to download today but unfortunately I don’t have any YouTube download tools installed on my notebook… I do have one before but I’ve uninstalled it long time ago… I can’t really remember why I uninstalled it, but it could be it was a trial version or it was full with advertisement or something like that… 😛

What did I do then?… Well, I called my friend Google and asked him to search the best downloader for YouTube video. A couple of seconds later, he came back and presented me with a bunch of links. I glanced through and pick one… I downloaded and installed it… unfortunately every time I download the YouTube video using the tools, it cut off after 30% or so… You see, the YouTube video I want to download is 57 minutes long… 😛 I need to download this video coz it seems this video is being deleted from YouTube… when I searched for this 57 minutes video last month, I found about 3 of them… and there are many shorter version too. But today, I can’t find any of the 57 minutes… even the shorter versions are so few… There must be some conspiracy to delete this video… they don’t want the public to see it…

Then after sharing one of the shorter version with my friend this evening, I accidentally found the 57 minutes versions… that is why I want to download it before ‘they’ delete this one… Anyways, since the first downloader did not work well, I tried another… and this one is called The Best Video Downloader and it’s working fine so far… in fact it is downloading right now… and it’s already 80% completed… the 57 minutes video is about 240MB… 😛 and the video I’m trying to download is about the Elenin or Nibiru or Brown Dwarf… about the earth quake catastrophe going to occur on 26th September 2011… it said with magnitude 12 to 15 earth quake, the whole Pacific Rim will go… New Zealand will disappear… Japan will disappear… Indonesia will disappear… China will disappear… Korea will disappear… Russia will disappear… West Coast of America will disappear… 😛

6+1 monitors for a notebook

adapter, cards, computer, display, usb, UXGA, video

A friend was asking me the other day if there are possibilities to use multiple monitors on his notebook. I said sure… use a VGA splitter or Video splitter.

But that’s not what he wanted… he wants to display different section of the display on different monitor… duhh…

Well I told him that his notebook already has one VGA port to connect to a bigger monitor.

But no… he wants to use two external monitor… so the setup will be with 3 LCD displays… the notebook LCD screen and two external monitors…

emm… lucky, I’ve seen a device before which can do exactly what he wanted to do… the device is simply called as USB UXGA Adapter by the computer shops… 😛

What exactly is USB 2.0 UXGA Adapter?

Well, it is an external video card or you can also call it as external display card… The adapter, a small electronic box which has an USB port and VGA or DVI or both ports.  To use the video cards adapter, you simply plug in the USB cable from the notebook to one end of the adapter. On the other end of the adapter, connect the monitor’s VGA or DVI cable.

If the adapter’s driver is properly installed, the operating system like Windows should be able to detect the adapter and use it as secondary monitor… or third monitor… the first is the notebook LCD monitor, second is the monitor connected to the VGA port on the notebook and the third is the monitor connected to the USB UXGA Adapter.

You can install up to 6 USB UXGA adapters at one time… provided you have 6 USB 2.0 ports available. And all 6 external monitors should be able to display UXGA resolution at 1600×1200… wow… :O
