Do you know that, if you want to transfer ownership of a car… a car which already has an owner… you have to get certification from PUSPAKOM?.. Yes, you really need their approval, not only for commercial vehicle but including private vehicle now.

Yesterday, I spent most of my time outside doing just that. In the morning around 9am, we send the car to PUSPAKOM. First, you get a form and a queue number from the counter. Then you must quickly fill-up the form… well yesterday were not many people around. When you queue number is called, you return the form and pay $30 for another form which is used to inspect your car.

Then bring the car into the queue for inspection. Lucky there are not many car in the queue… it’s like we are the 5th car in the queue. They said the queue normally very long. Then the car gets inspected after waiting in the queue for almost an hour. They check the chassis and engine numbers… make sure it is clean so that the numbers are visible. They opened some part of the rubber on the car door frame. This is to check if your vehicle is a joined vehicle… or half-cut… or ‘kereta potong’.
That’s all the inspections they did… I see some other vehicles being inspected more than that. Took out the car from the queue and park it. So, far it took use one and half hour. Then waited for the report’s result… that was like another half hour. Finally, we got our pass or LULUS report. Then the next stage was JPJ… where we have to go through queue after queue.
