Fireworks at 1Borneo Tonite
1borneo, fireworks, life October 17th, 2008There will be a fireworks display at 1Borneo at 8.30pm tonight, 17 October 2008. The display will be for only 5 minutes.
We planned to go there by 7.30pm to get the best location to snap photos… hopefully we will get a good place… in fact we planned to do it from Universiti Sabah Malaysia compound becoz it is on the hilly side of 1Borneo.

The weather is a bit gloomy right now… I just hope there will be no rain at the show time… wind will be OK, since it can carry away the smokes.

15 October, 2008 (DAILY EXPRESS NEWS)Kota Kinabalu: Rockets, roman candles and Catherine wheels will light up the west coast sky when the 1Borneo Fireworks Spectacular is held at the hypermall on Friday.The event promises breathtaking pyrotechnic choreography with a sweeping musical soundtrack.The five-minute fireworks display will begin 8:30pm with five scenes during which 10,000 shells will be fired from two large barges accompanied by eight pontoons.
1Borneo’s Public Relations Manager, Chris Ho said it would be another first for Sabah and 1Borneo. The fireworks spectacular will complement the Sabah International Expo (SIE 2008) held in the hypermall.
We are pleased to provide visitors with a highly professional event which focuses firmly on family entertainment provided in a safe environment.”
With delegates from the 22 countries participating in SIE2008, 1Borneo is not just a destination for lifestyle pleasures and entertainment but also the best platform for foreign investment opportunities.
An estimated 40,000 trade visitors are expected to visit the hypermall during the expo to experience the vast facilities and services the venue has to offer.
Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is expected to launch the SIE2008 and attend a welcoming state dinner at the newly opened, 1Borneo Ballroom.

I was there, in the car, right in front of 1Borneo, right underneath the explosions – they were so loud that my son begged me to please go home right now – As for the execution of the show: some good, some bad points. Will write abt it soon.

Right underneath it izzit?… that will be the worse position… debris falling down… smokes… smell… deafening bang… 😆

I can hear it from Penampang. My sister said it wasn’t that great. For only 5 minutes…why bother with the publicity. I hear that during CNY, the view from Kg. Kopungit aka Kepayan ridge has the best view.

When Sabah not much shopping Mall, how people look at Sabah city? Without 1Borneo, may be it still a big gap compare other M’sia city….It mAy a stepping stone to build n develop more successfull building for Sabah! Keep it up!
