Suddenly tablet and netbooks got buried somewhere…

Out of nowhere, the name iPad came into the picture… who have expected they gonna called it iPad?… although it is just a tablet… the same tablet we have been talking many years…

Well, it’s Apple’s tradition… iPod, iPhone, iMac… and now iPad… 😛  and frankly I’m not a fan of Apple’s products… although they are great for graphics thingy…

I’m hoping more from Windows thingy… but Windows thingy are very slow to evolve… they seem to be not growing up… and now, they got eaten by iPad… and soon they might get eaten by iWin… and who knows they might only able to come out with iLoose iLost after that 😛

Anyway, I don’t think iPad gonna make a great hit… mainly because of timing… and economy are bad at the moment… so, hopefully Windows thingy will evolved at the mean time… and come out with something spectacular…

If you are using the new Windows Mobile 6.5 on your mobile phone, you should be able to see the Microsoft My Phone.

OK, what izzit? Well it is a kind of phone service provided by Microsoft… but not to make calls or sms… it is a kind of online backup service for your phone’s contacts, calendar, tasks, text messages, music, photos, videos and other documents.

To use it, you will need a Windows Live ID… you can register one from the web if you don’t have one yet… then with your Windows Live ID, login from your phone and everything will be straight forward, your phone should be able to sync with the Microsoft My Phone service.

Other than providing online backup for your mobile phone data, Microsoft My Phone also can be used to track your lost mobile phone… it can tell you the last known location of your phone on a map based on where it was last synced or shared photos using the My Phone.

I have fiddle with the service on my Windows Mobile 6.5 phone, but I’m not dare to register yet… I’m very concern about the data safety… will it get leaked out? But I’m still thinking… I will not dump it completely… I might use the service one day… 😛

Toyota is one of the biggest car producers in the world… and it has been the leader for many years. But Toyota is facing huge problem since a couple of years…

Toyota is the only Japanese car I like… and I support their F1 team together with Mercedes F1… but unfortunately their F1 team will not be racing this year… same with few other teams which were hit by the world financial meltdown last year.

For the past two years, Toyota has been recalling its vehicles… and it has recalled millions already. They are top in sales but they are also top in recall!!!

But almost all the recalled vehicles are with Toyota US!!! Not here in Malaysia.

Last year they were having problem with floor mat which will slip and cause major safety on the driver’s handling. Now they are having safety issues on the gas pedal… and recently there is a possibility safety issue on the brake system!!! But not all models are affected… only some…

If you are owning any of the US Toyota vehicles which has been identified as having safety issues, I think if you need term life insurance or do not have any right now, you better get it now… else you just have to keep your Toyota in the garage or sell it off… 😛

If Toyota keeps on recalling their vehicles, I’m scared they will vanish from the business very soon… I hope they can improve their safety standard or fix whatever problem they are having in the production line… I hope it is not caused by design flaw because Toyota has one of the best designs… hopefully it’s just caused by bad materials…

People like smoke… and smoke was around us since very long time ago… before the invention of modern wired and wireless communication devices, smoke was used as long distance communication device as visual communication… 😛

Then people fall in love with smoke… so they eat smoke!… they inhale smoke!… 😛 And I hate smoke!… I can’t stand smoke… I will sneeze and my nose will start runny when someone’s second hand smoke enters my nose… I’m referring to cigarette if you have not figured it out… 😛

Then there is cigar… another inhale smoke thingy… but cigar have better smell and I don’t really remember if I get runny nose if cigar’s smoke enter my nose… coz there are not many people smoking cigar walking around…

Then there is hookah or shisha… a smoking through water thingy… well, that’s how I see it… and they said it’s safer than cigarettes and cigars… I don’t really know… and hookah is widely used in Arab world… but it is actually invented in India… 😛

OK, enough with smoke for today… but I will tell more about smoke or ‘asap’ next time… 😀

It’s time to send my car for servicing again… it has passed the 58k KM mileage… errr should it be read as kilometerage?… it’s really strange that we still refer it as mileage although we have been using the metric standard for so long… 😛

I always exceed the once in 3 months servicing schedule… coz my mileage within the 3 months period always less than 5,000 km… so I only service my car once in 5 months, once it has accumulated 5,000 km… although UMW Toyota said it’s not good for the engine, well, I don’t really care coz I’m using synthetic lubricant… lubricant from Toyota itself… 😛

It’s going to be the first servicing for this year… and I must do the servicing before the Chinese New Year… which falls on 14 & 15 February… which also falls on Valentine Day… and luckily my road tax and insurance are still valid for another 8 months… so I don’t have to worry about auto insurance quote… else more money need to be spent next month 😛

Today is Saturday, tomorrow is Sunday 23 January 2010… and tomorrow morning we are planning to go out early in the morning around 3.00 am for photography session at Kota Kinabalu Central market… we want to capture the life of people starting their business early in the morning… yes, starting and not ending or retiring from the night work.

Sometimes I don’t sleep till pass 3.00 am… but waking up at 3.00 am was never… as far as I can remember… will this mean I have to stay awake all the time?… that will make me feel walking on air!!! Yea, when I don’t get enough sleep, I will feel like walking on air… so what is my option tonight?… should I rent a motorhome? But wait, we don’t have motorhomes here… how nice if I can get a motorhome…. can park at the central market, sleep inside the motorhome and jump out from it anytime!!!

Oh, well… my option now is to sleep early… probably by 9.00 pm tonight in my bedroom… 😛 I hope my can get sleep that early…

Accident can happen anytime… even while watching TV. A three year old girl was killed when a television set fell on her on 18 January 2010 at Bandar Putra Kulai, Johor.

She was watching her nursery dance performance recorded by her parents last year in a room. The parents said she loves to watch the video recording very much. During the accident, the mother was in the bathroom while the father and the other two children were watching TV in the living room.

It was believed the girl accidentally pulled the 24-inch television set off a tv stand and landed on here back. The youngest of three children, the poor girl died from injuries to her head and body.

She was rushed to the Kulai Hospital but died without regaining consciousness. Police did not suspect foul play.

Supposed to do gym tonight… but unfortunately it was blackout at City Mall. I arrived there around 7.10pm… only certain parts of the mall are lit up. I ask one of the shop keepers how long the blackout has been… he said quite sometime… 😛

The gym is totally out… there is no single light I can see inside the gym… on the 1st and 2nd floor of the mall. So, I called Disney… who is also coming to the gym… he was still on his way. I told him about the blackout… then we decide to abandon the gym… and decided to go for night photography instead…

Since I did not bring my camera, I have to go back home… same with him. Going back is another hard part… there was a massive traffic jam at the main road outside the mall… and I was stuck there about half hour before manage to make a U-turn.

For the photography, we went to Kota Kinabalu’s Central Market… around it, there are many stalls selling foods… its quite lively… so we spend quite a long time there… and I was sweating and damm tired walking around… but well, since we did not go for gym, this is good way to do quick weight loss… 😀

After that, we proceeded to KDCA to take photos of the dragon lanterns… and it was so tiring… worse than doing exercise at the gym… I have to use every part of my muscle to stretch out to have a good view of the dragons… 😛

Woke up this morning and both my legs are arching… but lucky it wasn’t the joint pains or knee pain… it just the muscle on my leg. It was caused by doing brisk walking on the treadmill yesterday at the gym.  I have not done the treadmill for sometimes… I usually do the ski which is like the treadmill but it uses more energy.

The pain was getting worse towards lunch time… I almost wanted to go for foot massage or reflexology… but luckily the pain subside. From now on, I’m going to do the treadmill and ski alternately so that I can train different parts of my leg instead of just doing the ski… 😛

Many things need be done this month. Whenever January comes, all kind of bills and statement will appear. And this is the time money is the most sought after raw material… 😛

Income tax letter received… need time to fill the online income tax from now… annual housing loan statements received… time to renew the mortgage life insurance… time to renew all the other insurance too… including car insurance… road tax… everything needs money!!!

The only good things this month is getting statements from the PNB for the Amanah Saham… and the other unit trust fund managers… how I wish I don’t have to pay anything… just getting my salary every month… 😛
