world record weight loss

Guinness Book of World Records, mike hebranko, oprah, richard simmons, slimquick, weight loss, world record

The other day I watch in Oprah talk show how a super huge man loose over 700 pounds in 19 months!!! That’s what we call slimquick!!!

The man, Mike Hebranko, during his life has gained and lost over 3,000 pounds. When he was 34, he reached his heaviest weight of 1,100 pounds. He said during that period he can take 24 pork chops, 2 pounds of bacon and three dozen of eggs at one serving!!!

Then he lost his will to live… he put a gun in his mouth but lucky he came to his senses… instead he wrote a letter to weight loss personality Richard Simmons.

With Simmons coaching, Hebranko created a world record in weight loss by loosing more than 700 pounds in 19 months. The record earned Michael a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records as one of the world’s greatest dieters, losing the most amount of weight in the least amount of time.

no more wireless microphone… it’s dangerous…

700 MHz, band, fcc, frequencies, microphone, safety, security, wireless

The Federal Communications Commission or FCC is banning wireless microphone for public safety!!! wow… is there a danger in using wireless microphone?… previously NO… but now YES…

The banned wireless microphones are those using the 700 MHz band… and the ban is effective from 12 June 2010… That’s less than 6 months from now… 😛

We have so many kind of wireless thingy today… wireless security systems for home, wireless security cameras, etc., etc., etc… are they getting banned soon too?… Just hope they don’t…

Well, the reason the wireless microphone banned is because it is causing interference to band used for public safety.

When these microphones were first designed, it was not interfering with other devices because it is operating within the public television broadcast frequencies which are between the 698 MHz to 806 MHz… or better known as the 700 MHz Band.

But with the completion of the digital television (DTV) transition on 12 June 2009, television stations are no longer using the band.

Now, these frequencies are being used by public safety entities (such as police, fire and emergency services) and by commercial providers of wireless services (such as wireless broadband services).

So, under a new FCC rule, anyone who uses a wireless microphone that operates in the 700 MHz Band will have to stop operating their wireless microphone by 12 June 2010.

web directories for page rank for money?

directories service, page rank, SEO, web

Some websites are very dependent to their ranking from organizations that rank websites such as Google page rank, Yahoo! WebRank or Alexa ranking. Getting a better rank position for a website is useful when it needs a better exposure in the internet…. which translates into the website’s popularity… and sometimes… or most of the time… money!!!

My blog was once rank by one of the most prominent ranking organization… but now I have none I guess… 😛 but it doesn’t really matter for now…

Some might even go to the extent of paying Search Engine Optimizer (SEO) services to gain better rank. But is there really a best paid web directories services out there? Well, it’s up to you whether to trust the service or not… but I guess most of them are not doing what they promised… like instead of making your rank going positive, it goes south… 😛

There are also free web directories services… but this is worse coz they will simply put your back link into all their members including members websites which have been blacklisted by… probably by all rank organizations out there… which in turn, your website get penalized too!!!

RM1 billion junks?

blackout, employment, life

The government said, they have spent RM1 billion… or USD$300 million… to improve the electricity supply in the state… but yet the blackout is getting worse day by day.

Then, they blame the generators… old generator sets which are inefficient and costly to maintain… 😛 who purchase the generators in the first place?

Now they are proposing to use gas or coal power generation plants… the coal power plant proposal was heavily objected by many parties… even me don’t agree with it… coz we have so much oil and gas dug in the state… we are one of the biggest oil producer in the country!!!… we don’t have coal mine here!!!

Solutions using gas for the power plants are more feasible coz we have the gas supply on hand… and soon an oil and gas processing plant at Kimanis… or was it just an oil and gas terminal???… damm… are we being short-hand again?… is being build and will be completed soon…

If oil and gas processing plant is build instead of just oil and gas terminal, thousands of our people in the state will get employment… when more people employed, there will be less jobless people in the state… then the economic will improve… and with the power plant… stable power supply… more investor will come here to build their factory etc… etc… etc… 😛

boy’s traditional medicine confiscated

adi putra, anti aging, confiscated, genius, medicine, raid

People will do anything to promote their products… including exploiting children. The prodigy boy named Adi Putra was not spared.

He might be genius but greed probably made the people around him to take advantage. Last week, his house in Gombak Selangor was raided by the Health Ministry’s pharmaceutical services division. The 11 year old boy and his family were away in Sabah to conduct seminar.

In the raid, health supplements worth RM600,000 were confiscated. Among the items seized were healing remedy for joints, anti aging product, memory booster and many more. Clinical tests confirmed some of the products contained steroid and not a traditional medicine as stated on the label. The products are not certified by the ministry and believed has been in the marked for a few months.

we are full of boxes

boxes, recycle, shipping, storage

Every year we collects piles of boxes… these boxes are packaging box for all the things we bought this year…. they are packaging box for electronic stuffs. And these boxes are not the normal box… they are thick and strong used as shipping boxes… strong enough to be thrown into the airplane cargo belly…

So, from time to time, our office will reserve some days before we go back home to arrange all the boxes piled in our training room cum store room cum multipurpose room 😛

Usually some of us will take back some of the boxes which can be used at home… For the rest of the boxes, we throw it to a re-cycling center… 😀

stupid phone call

call, center, inbound, phone, stupidity, work

I really want to put this in here…

On the first working day of this year, 4 January 2010, I received a call… through my office extension phone.

I pick-up the phone and answer ‘Hello’… A lady voice on the other end replied… ‘Is this extension 13xx?’… I said ‘Yes’… then she replied… telling me her company name and location… then asked, ‘How do we register with you?’…

My mind was saying… ‘What the heck is this lady talking about?’…

So I asked her what she wants to register?… and her replied was she not sure… her boss asked her to register… shoot man!!! Is it April already?… I told her I can’t help her if she not sure what her boss want…

Then she asks me what my office business is… I told her it is the ICT section… then she asks me again what is ICT… OMG!!!… I told her it stand for Information & Communication Technology… then she asks me again what it do?

What the heck!!!! O_O

I told her it’s about computers… then she asks me if I can tell her more about ICT… Farkkkkk!!!!… (ok… ok… I don’t like that word to be in here… but that was really what in my mind that time… and it was written with font size 1000 in my head!!!)

I told her I can’t help her if she not sure with everything she asks… I told her to Google the ICT word herself… then she asks me how to do it!!!!! FARKKKKKK… dammit!!!!… This time the word is written with zillion font size!!!… Come on man… This is not an inbound call center… not a sex-call center… not a psychiatric call center… not a psychiatric hospital… not a mental hospital…

I told her to find out herself coz I’m busy and I have a guest in front of me… then I hang up the phone before more stupid words comes out from her mouth…

Dammm… that was really… really… really… I don’t know what word to describe my feeling… what I went thru… at that time… dammm… 😛

fridge

bottles, broken, container, food, fridge, water

Family’s main fridge broke down on Thursday… it has been fixed a couple of times. Since I was on leave on that day coz I had my tooth pulled the day before, I took the opportunity to scout for a new fridge. I went Chan Furniture at Jalan Lintas, Kepayan, with one of my nephew.

Deciding for a replacement with the same size was quite difficult coz the prices are not very attractive… but at the end manage to decide after scouting for more than half hour inside the warehouse.

I ask for some discounts… manage to get some… but I believe it was a standard discount to make every client happy. So, I ask for free gift… and they offered me to choose between the custom water bottles or the food container… I choose the custom water bottles coz I have more use to it than the food container… man… they year is still young and spend so much money already… hope I can strike some 4D this year to recover all those money 😆

.. 😆 ..

at last after almost 20 years…

dental, dentist, health, plan, tooth

At last, I pulled my bad tooth on Wednesday at one of the dentists at Kampung Air, Kota Kinabalu. The day before, Tuesday, I had it x-rayed at one of the dental clinic at Damai, Luyang and bought some pain killer… all for RM70.

It was not a straight forward tooth removal… my bad tooth shattered while the dentist tried to pull it out… the dentist has to do some surgery to pull the three roots buried deep into my strong gum 😛 The tooth foundation was still very firm… only the top part is bad.

Because of that, I have to spend RM500 instead of RM150 for just pulling one tooth!!! The tooth was quite bad… the filling on it which was done about 20 years ago was occupying almost the whole surface of my tooth. I should have fixed it long time ago or get myself a Blue Cross Blue Shield NC health plan… but I really don’t like visiting dentist…

Lesson learned… if you hate visiting the dentist… you must take a good care of your teeth’s health… coz bad teeth will make you suffer… but healthy teeth will save your money!!!

should i pull or do root canal?

copper, life, marble, teeth, tile, tooth, toothache

Almost unable to take the pain, I decided to go to the dentist this morning around 9.30am. Lucky, I’m not the type who easily goes berserk when having pain in the body… I was able to withstand the excruciating pain for 12 hours or so… plus lack of sleep…

I went to one of the dental clinic in Damai with my colleague which is opposite the shop we were having our late breakfast. I notice there are 3 dental clinics around Damai… probably more which I did not see. I actually call the clinic from the coffee shop to find out if they are busy… saw their number on the signboard. The nurse said there is an appointment around 10.00am… but I said, I will walk in after my meal… coz I’m having food next to their clinic 😛

The dental clinic looks big… the waiting area is huge… but there is only one dentist and two nurses. Registered myself… then in less then 3 minutes, I was called into the ‘operation’ room… I was lucky to get the appointment coz their two patients have not turn up yet for the 10am appointment… probably they couldn’t find a parking space… getting parking in Damai is like hitting a jackpot especially during office hours.

While waiting to be called, I scan through the pictures pasted on the clinic’s wall. Some shows before and after results… like one of it shows how jagged and bad teeth looks before getting treatment… and once corrected it shows sparkling teeth… arrange nicely like marble tiles… and there is also picture showing teeth with metal stuff on it, instead of arranged like marble tiles, it looks like copper tile 😛

Told the dentist my problem… I wanted the tooth to be pulled… but when he tried to shake the tooth with his hand, he said it’s still strong… and since it is a molar tooth… I heard ‘molar’, so it must be the name of the tooth… it’s harder to pull coz it has 3 legs… 😛 if pulling not successful, I might have to do operation… WHAT???

OK… I ask for second option… and I ask for an X-Ray of  my tooth… he said, if the tooth can be saved, I can opt for root canal… emmm… sound lots of drilling, and I don’t like drilling… lying on the dentist chair and listening all the lecture makes me sweat…

At the end he ask me to think about it first… so I ask for painkiller… he offer me ‘panadol’… WHAT???… I can get that at any shop… I ask for a stronger one… he offered me a capsule which cost RM10 each… I bought 4 of them since he is only free on Friday if I plan to come back… 😛 Well, I might do the root canal… 😛
