Arrive at Gayana Eco Resort
gayana, gayana eco resort, life, pulau gaya February 11th, 2009We left the Jesselton Point Jetty on Sunday, 18 January 2009, around 1.50 pm after the Gayana Eco Resort staff completed checking and confirming the boat passenger list. We arrived at Gayana Eco Resort around 2.10 pm, that’s about 20 minutes of boat ride. The ride is a bit choppy because there are quite some big waves. They said morning ride are calmer compared to afternoon ride.
Our luggage and gears are unloaded by the resort’s staff. The first thing we did was registering our self. We have to deposit for our stay… and my room number is 38 which is a nice number. I believe the Chinese call it ‘Hidup Kaya’ or ‘Live Rich’ or something like that…
There are about 70 participants in our trip including the committee. Only about 1% are ladies and there are not many other guest around. So we won’t expect to see much ladies in lingerie or swim suit I guess 😆
OK forget about that lingerie thingy… the first thing my colleague did was preparing some of the gears. I went and see them at the conference room and luck was on my side because I join them eating some sandwiches. I only had ‘ngau chap’ for breakfast, and these sandwiches will help me to stay alive in this island until dinner at 7.30 pm.
The Celcom’s broadband connection is a disaster. I’m able to connect to it at 3.5G but the connection is very unstable. I end up not using it at all. Mobile phone services are also a disaster. We have to find spot and stay at the spot to get connected.
