4K TV

4k tv, smart tv, tv, tv reviews, tv stand

TVs are getting thinner each year… but getting bigger in screen size. .. it’s true coz if you follow the international electronic expo, almost all the big TV brands will showcase their latest TV. For example the recent Consumer Electronics Show or CES 2013 which was held in Las Vegas last month.

The tv-buzz during the expo is 4K TV… so what is 4K TV?… well it’s all about the TV’s resolution. The higher the resolution, the sharper the image will be. So in this case, 4K TV will have twice the horizontal and vertical resolution of the 1080p HDTV format.

Imagine, if you are already satisfied with your 1080p HDTV, wait until you see the 4K TV…

Expect the next few months when the 4K TVs hit the store, consumers will start replacing their ‘ancient’ 1080p HDTV… imagine having the futuristic 4K TV on top of your new tv rack in your living room… 😀

unsuitable TV stand can kill

accident, stand, tv

Accident can happen anytime… even while watching TV. A three year old girl was killed when a television set fell on her on 18 January 2010 at Bandar Putra Kulai, Johor.

She was watching her nursery dance performance recorded by her parents last year in a room. The parents said she loves to watch the video recording very much. During the accident, the mother was in the bathroom while the father and the other two children were watching TV in the living room.

It was believed the girl accidentally pulled the 24-inch television set off a tv stand and landed on here back. The youngest of three children, the poor girl died from injuries to her head and body.

She was rushed to the Kulai Hospital but died without regaining consciousness. Police did not suspect foul play.

Speakers box cum tv stand

cabinet, design, entertainment, radical, speakers, stand, tv

I need to find an interesting… space age… speakers’ box design which can also turn as tv stand…

Usually we put the tv on a tv cabinet or stand. As for the sound system, if it a HiFi, we need to have some space for the HiFi and also for the few large speakers on the left and right… and front for the sub-woofer.

But to save space, why not have tv stands which also house the speakers… including the sub-woofer…  that will save some space and some messy wiring… and the living room will be neater… need to do some radical design to accomplish this… 😀

Lift your tv higher or use your ceiling

gadget, life, projector, tv

You wanted to watch tv while lying on your bed. The tv is in front of your bed. But you can’t have a good view of it, so you have to lift your head a little bit using some pillows or you have no choice but to sit on your bed and lean on the headboard… which will cause you neck pain or back pain.

To have it at good viewing level and to avoid severe neck or back pain, the tv has to be on a higher level, higher than the usual 3 feet high cabinet that we usually have in the living room.

How about fixing the tv on the wall? Or how about fixing it on the ceiling? Yea, ceiling will be nicer since you don’t have to use additional pillow or sit and lean on the headboard. No more neck pain or back pain, just lie down and enjoy the tv shows until you fall asleep 😀

But how are you going to lift and fix the tv on your ceiling? You definitely are going to need a lifter to do that… probably tv lifts. But I don’t think you want to install the tv on your ceiling if you don’t want the tv kills you while you sleeping… kaboom… the tv falls on you while you are sleeping.

Even with plasma or lcd tv, they are still not suitable to be installed on the ceiling. The best option is to get a tv cabinet with an adjustable tv lifts so that you can have a better viewing level.

But yesterday at Karamunsing Complex shop, Micron, at the 3rd floor, I saw a neat gadget… handheld projector. The projector is the size of a pda phone. You can project the image anywhere you like while holding it, just like pointing a laser pointer. And the best part, you can point it upward to the ceiling. WOW… can watch movie while lying on the bed lah… 😀

Just look at the picture, I took it using my hand phone camera. Although it was projected to the checkered wall which is like silk and very reflective, the image is still very clear. Imagine if it was projected on to a white plaster ceiling… 😀

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL of YOU… and if you want to give me a present, you know what I want, it’s only about RM1,000.00++ 😆

HERO Season 3

The wait is finally over! In a STAR WORLD exclusive, the all-new season of Heroes blasts off on Thu 6 Nov at 10pm. In this much-anticipated third season, the stakes are higher, the villains are tougher and the threat of an impending apocalypse has never been greater! In the brand-new chapter, titled ´Volume 3: Villains´, a group of highly developed super villains escape from prison and unleash their evil on an unsuspecting world. Meanwhile serial killer Sylar (Zachary Quinto) returns with enhanced powers and Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) begins a new journey to understand his powers. Elsewhere, Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) is forced to take sides, Matt (Greg Grunberg) learns new ways to use his ability and Mohinder (Sendhil Ramamurthy) begins a dangerous transformation.

As for fan favorite Hiro (Masi Oka), he chases down a superfast villain named Daphne (Brea Grant) who outraces him at every turn. “This season we are not really introducing any new characters,” explains Heroes´ writer-creator Tim Kring. “We are concentrating very much on the core characters that we´ve had for two seasons.” While fans expect the super-strong baddies to perform evil deeds, Kring hints that some of the good guys will also venture over to the dark side this season. “These are ordinary people,” explains Kring, “and they make decisions based on who they are and the circumstances they find themselves in.

It was always built into the premise that our core group of people would be tempted by the circumstances they were in [to use their powers for evil].” As Kring points out, though, newcomers to the show will be able to pick up the plot. “We didn´t want to feel like you had to have watched two years of Heroes to catch up,” he says. “We wanted to answer things really quickly so viewers could move forward and have a clean path in front of them.” – ASTRO
