Have You Ever Seen The Rain?

life

Wow… it was already quite sometimes I did not drive while it rains. The weather was hot since early this month… but I do hope and believe there will be plenty of rain till the end of this year 😀

It will be good to clear the haze…

Anyway, while half way driving home tonight, slightly before 8pm, the rain started getting heavy. When I started my journey from the office, it was just drizzling at that time… I wasn’t expecting the heavy rain… what a wonderful way to cool down after office 😀

Then, when I switch on the radio… the Light and Easy channel… cool… what a nice song… an oldies… a great song… Have You Ever Seen The Rain!!!

To celebrate the rain, I want to share the rain song tonite… even our dog is enjoying the rain… sleeping… 😆

Enjoy 😀

Free car wash today… 😀

The hot sunshine yesterday morning… took this near the ‘tunnel’ at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

I’m On UNLIMITED

life

I guess my blog is back online… like 99% now… and it loads faster too…

What happen?

Well, formerly my hosting at Exabytes was on Microsoft Windows platform, Windows EBiz Plus… unfortunately there are many limitations in term of features compared to a Linux hosting. For instance I can only host one domain and can’t do add-on domain. And it is also a bit slow when loading…

Because of that limitation, I can only do domain parking for my other domain which is very troublesome in term of managing files and contents.

So after two years… yes my first domain was conceived on the 12 June 2007… juggling with my files for my multiple domains by just using ‘domain parking’, I decided it is time for me to do something about it.

Lucky for me, recently my hosting, Exabytes, launch a new package, Linux EBiz Gold Unlimited… yes it has everything UNLIMITED… add on domain, disk space, monthly data transfer, MySQL databases, etc…. are all UNLIMITED!!!

😀 😀 😀

Temporary Out of Service

life

I’m in the process of moving certain ‘things’ on my swordbomber.com which also affected swordie.swordbomber.com since yesterday evening, Friday 19 Jun 2009, around 5pm.

Some might be able to access it without problem depending on the DNS or internet service provider you are using… some, like those on streamyx will see error page.

I hope I can put everything back online as soon as possible…

The odd firefighter

firefighter, life, skin care products

How many female firefighter you have seen in your whole life? Not many or none at all I guess… I don’t recall I ever seen one before… what can I say, we never think of a female firefighter… firefighting is guys job.

But working in a male dominated field is not a stumbling block for a 25 year old lady from Semporna. Although there are 3 ladies currently working with the Fire and Rescue Department, she is different.

The other two, Sariah Saim from Balung and Fauziah Samang from Sandakan is doing administrative work. But for Norhaini Jumdani, she is working in the operation devision. It’s weird for a woman doing field operation works especially in a very challenging work like fire fighting and rescue. One might wonder what she carries with her during work. I’m sure she doesn’t carries lipsticks and small mirror… but probably skin care products like sun block 😆 OK enough making joke about her… 😛

My Last Weekend

airplane, beach, bra, KKIA, life, model, photography, tanjung aru

Last Saturday, 9 May 2009, went to Jesselton Point jetty to take photos with a friend, Willy. Nothing much to do there I guess. We were there from around 10 to 12 I think… lucky it was not that hot that day, probably still consider morning… but it was quite hot in the late afternoon.

The plan was to test my new lens… Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM. Formerly I was using my friend’s Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS. For now, I don’t feel much different other than the extra 50mm and the USM. But it’s cool to hold the lens… feels more solid and big.

Then on Sunday, after sending off my sister to the KK airport, I took my nephews to the Tanjung Aru 3rd beach to watch the airplanes landing and taking off. If you are familiar with the airplanes viewing spot, you will be saddened… if you have not been there for sometimes the place has been fenced.

Previously there are some areas where you can park the car near the runways and watch the airplanes. But now, the fence has been moved right next to the road until there are no more places to park cars.

I spotted a photographer… he is an airplanes spotter I guess. He use a tall ladder so that he can snap the airplanes landing and taking off above the fence. I did talk to him and he is an airplanes spotter for BKI… the Kota Kinabalu International Airport… KKIA.

Parents, don’t do this to your kids…

life, online, shopping, youtube

Do any parents go and see their son or daughter at the office on their first day at work? And when the parents walks into the office, they enter as if they own the office… what would the kid feels? I’m sure it is bloody embarrassing to the kid…

And what is the parents’ reaction when they found out that their son or daughter is browsing for cheap sale on the internet to do online shopping? And paying for the goods using their parent’s credit card? Well, just hope the kid did not do all that during office hours, else the kid is not only get embarrassed, but probably will get kick out of his or her first job on the first day…

Arrested for resolving an argument

family, life

A woman in Fairfield, Connecticut, US, had an argument with her husband. She wanted to resolve the argument but was not successful. The husband went to bed and falls asleep… probably too tired with the argument.

The wife got an idea on how to resolve the argument. She took a handcuff and put it on herself and to her sleeping husband. She hope by doing so, the husband can’t get away and reconcile their differences.

But when the husband woke up, he was not happy with what the wife did, so he called the police. The wife got mad and started hitting and biting the husband on the arms and torso. Luckily she did not bite her husband’s ‘tool’. If she did bite off his ‘tool’, it will be catastrophic and too late even if you wish you had term insurance for that ‘tool’. He will be handicap even if the doctor is able to reattach back his organ. And imagine if she chew and swallow his organ!!!

Anyway, the police on the other end of the phone heard the fighting and dispatch a patrol car to the house. The police have to force their way into the room. Guess what else she did… she changed the bedroom door’s lock!!!

She was charged for assault, disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment and unlawful restraint. But she was released on a $400 bond… not sure who bail her out… probably the husband. If the husband did, that’s mean she was successful in resolving their argument 😀

Today’s dysfunctional society

life, security, social

I’m not sure what your interpretation for social security disability… but I have something very disturbing to share about today’s social security disability.

During lunch this afternoon with a friend, another friend joins us. She just came back from picking her daughter from school.

It was quite sometimes I did not see her. So we had some great chit chat about economic, life, work and many more. But our conversations become serious when she mentioned about the social security problem caused by the bad economic situation today.

She told us how her friends… yes friends… received anonymous calls informing them that their kid has been kidnapped and they want ransom to be paid right away!!!

Her friends become panic, but luckily their mind still work and able to recall the school telephone number and immediately call the school to check on their kid. And it turn out that their kid is still in the school enjoying their classes.

It seems that this is going to be a trend and I believe there were some cases published on the paper already. Reading this kind of news on paper which occur somewhere else will not make much attention to us. But when the news is almost first hand to you, it really makes your mind blow… that’s human nature. So please be alert… if it can happen somewhere else, it can happen at your place. It is dysfunctional society out there.

And all the proprietors are believed to be not locals. Their slangs are very different from the local’s daily slang… be it in Chinese or Malay.

So please, every one should be more careful and alert.

If you are parents having schooling kids, make sure you know the school’s telephone number.

And if you are teacher, when the school’s telephone is ringing, please answer them… don’t just leave it ringing!!! Someone’s life might be in stake.

What have been?

life, singapore, travel, work

Many things occur since my last post. The most recent is streamyx was down for almost 2 days, late Friday to early Sunday, and it seems that certain part of Sabah was affected by some strange disturbances which spoil the streamyx.

Then there are piles of work waiting back in the office. There was training last week for the system we developed with more than 20 participants for 2 days. I have to make sure the training server is working fine… luckily it was working fine for the 2 days training. But the worse part is, it seems that our network DNS has been poisoned. I was trying to fix it since last week. My next solution is to rebuild the whole ‘perimeter’… that will eat up plenty of my time… again!

Then accounting work also waiting to be done… few things on systems need to be modified and to build… imagine accountants not sure the flow of their accounting works! And we supposed to tell them how to do their work, their work flow… crap, how to do system like that?…

Two weeks ago I was in Singapore attending forum for 3 days. I went there on Tuesday, 3rd March, and back on Saturday, 7th March 2009.

But lucky I was happily touring Singapore during the night and the day before I fly home. It was tiring attending the ‘boring’ forum and touring the city at night. My back and legs were save by my Crocs shoes which make the walking enjoyable… if not, I will be complaining of back and legs pain 😛

OK that’s all for now… no photos this time, lazy to upload 😛

Eh… wait… politic really sucks!!! Really feels like ‘dungu’ when you are outside the country and hearing the stupid politic happening back home!!! Gosh… so ‘malu’…

Men of Honor

life, team, work

I think nobody will die just because the person has to do some extra work… unless you like to be spoon feed. If it your line of duties… your expertise… graduated for it… hired for it… whenever you encounter ‘its problem’, I’m sure you have to put some effort or extra effort to do research on how to solve it, right? Not keep asking without trying to solve it… digg it!!!

A doctor will not wail or make excuses and start complaining to an accountant on how he encounter a problem stitching wound… shoot man… that is your expertise… why on earth a doctor asking an accountant on how to stitch wound? Damm… that doctor is making excuse or trying to sweep the problem under the carpet… no, carpet is too clean for that… rug better… under the pile of dirty rugs!!!

Anyway, I enjoyed watching the story on how Carl Brashear fought his way to become the first African-American US Navy Diver on Astro tonight.

He has to endure all kind of obstacles starting from the camp chief to the instructor and to his team mates who do not want to see him get through the tests, all because of his color. He can’t get team work or support from his team mates except for one or two who are almost at the same situation as him.

He works hard and tried his best! All because diving is his passion and he want to be a great diver and save lives. His instructor was saying something like ‘you will die if the person next to you doesn’t work with you’… or ‘not with you’… it is a team game, simple! When your team mate is in trouble, help! But people said ‘heroes die early’… probably that’s why people don’t want to have extra work… even tiny extra work!
