Hunger… tired… excited… busy…

diet, mcse, work

This week was so hectic… Monday was virtually doing nothing but meetings… morning… evening… Only took a plate of noodles with a piece of chicken for breakfast and no food till dinner. Man… my stomach was so… donno how to describe.

Then Tuesday was busy troubleshooting and answering all kind of craps… and I skip lunch. And man… my stomach was so… donno how to describe.

But I also received great news about my order from the net on Tuesday night. I ordered some stuff almost 3 weeks ago 😀

Wednesday, skip breakfast… and almost gone berserk becoz of the mail server… it was not transporting the internal mails out since donno when… probably Monday. Lucky luck is around… nothing serious.

And was also busy filing the eTax… damm… there is so much tax to pay… lucky some of the incomes are non-taxable.

If I keep on skipping my important meals, I sure will get thinner soon… . . . Continue Reading »

Day 1 of IPv6 Course at Mercure 1Borneo

1borneo, ipv4, IPv6, mercure hotel, network

Today I have to attend a networking course for 3 days at Mercure Hotel located at 1Bornoe’s Tower A, at level 17 of the hotel to be precise.

IPv6 is the next generation of the internet protocol… the de-facto protocol to communicate through the internet. Currently we are all using the IPv4 but it is running out of public IPs.

The course is not very tough but the ‘sleepy’ make it very tough especially after food. Foods are more than enough… for the next 3 days, sure will gain weight and tummy will get bigger 😀

Talking about tummy… there is a type of cancer called mesothelioma which develops in the mesothelial cells. Mesothelial are tissue which produce lubricating fluid to protect and allows organs like lungs, heart, and stomach to move smoothly.

OK, back to the IPv6 course… there are 11 participants and the first day is mostly looking at the white board. And the white board is not big enough until the lecturer has to use the glass wall in the room to write.

Hopefully tomorrow will be more ‘awakening’ since we will do labs.

Woodsball aka Paint Ball at KKIP

paint ball, woodsball

A friend requested for my help to snap photos for their friendly woodsball match held at one of the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP) construction site. It was held last Saturday, 11 April 2009.

I was assisted by another friend to take the photos and who also took some videos. We started our journey from Penampang before 7 am. We took our ngau-chap breakfast at Nyuk Pau Baru at Inanam Manggatal before continuing our journey to Mangatal Tuaran.

We actually lost our way and end up entering the Kayu Madang garbage disposal area. We were already off for 3km from the main before realizing it, but luckily we manage to reach our destination before the match started.

The place is quite nice… big open space… easy to avoid stray bullets 😀

I enjoyed taking photos of the match and looking forward for my next assignment 😀 … which I believed will be a real ‘woodsball’ match… in none other than… in the jungle lah, where else kan?… it will be somewhere in Moyog or Babagon Dam 😀 And this time, the 70-300mm F4-5.6 IS USM lens I ordered should be around… I wish I can get a faster lens though…

The full albums are temporarily posted at (the url is case sensitive) links below. . . . Continue Reading »

Parents, don’t do this to your kids…

life, online, shopping, youtube

Do any parents go and see their son or daughter at the office on their first day at work? And when the parents walks into the office, they enter as if they own the office… what would the kid feels? I’m sure it is bloody embarrassing to the kid…

And what is the parents’ reaction when they found out that their son or daughter is browsing for cheap sale on the internet to do online shopping? And paying for the goods using their parent’s credit card? Well, just hope the kid did not do all that during office hours, else the kid is not only get embarrassed, but probably will get kick out of his or her first job on the first day…

Workshop at Borneo Paradise Beach Hotel in Kinarut

Borneo Paradise Beach Hotel

I was attending a workshop since Monday, 30th March 2009, until today Wednesday, 1st April 2009.

The workshop was held in Borneo Paradise Beach Hotel in Kinarut along the Papar Highway. Our daily programs start from 8.00 am until 10.00 pm!

I was lucky that my roommate is from Kinarut, so he did not stay in the hotel. I have the room, called BISAYA room, for myself throughout the workshop.

The only problem is no one is waking me up. For the final day, the presentation day, I woke up at 7.50 am!!! Damm… I have to skip the breakfast, luckily there was a break at 10.00 am and I was the first one to attack the food till our deputy ‘commented’ me for taking so much bread 😆

I understand the organizer manage to get a good deal… very cheap… from the hotel. But unfortunately the hotel room is not really taken care very well… well probably the hotel is a bit old.

I think the room need new painting… some part of the walls is dirty with smudges. The TV is quite old and too small… about 14 inches, so don’t expect an LCD TV with LCD mount on the wall with spectacular view from the bed… my Dell XPS M1330 screen is almost the size of the TV. The cabinets also need to be ‘replaced’ or fixed.

The bathroom is OK but the built in hot shower is no longer working, it was replaced with an instant hot shower. But unfortunately the shower head holder for the instant hot shower is broken. I reported it to the hotel management but it was not fixed until I check out. I have to use my skills to hang the shower head so that I can take my hot shower without holding the shower head. Overall, this place is still a nice and reasonable place to do function or vacation or resting.

The only bonus is the hotel is next to the beach. But the beach is a bit dirty. And while I was taking photos on the beach, I was attacked… and attacked… and attacked by sand flies. Now both my legs and hands are full with red spots… and it damm bloody itchy. My previous encounter with sand flies in Tempurung Seaside Lodge, Kuala Penyu, are still visible… scars is still visible on my legs. Maybe people will think I’m having skin disease if they see those old and new bites.

Taking photos here is great. Lucky, one of my colleague is quite good in photography, I learn some during our outing in the evening and early morning. We actually walk so far until we reach to some islands… yes… we did reached to an island by walking… coz it was low tide. And that’s why the beach looks a bit dirty since we can see all the garbage lying on the seabed.

Here are some of the beach photos… . . . Continue Reading »

A gift package from Dalit Bay Golf and Country Club

Dalit, Dalit Bay Golf and Country Club, gift, golf, tuaran

Last Friday I received a package from Dalit Bay Golf and Country Club for renewing my membership there for another year. I renewed my membership in January 2009.

Every membership will be given a package. My package was ready since February but I do not have the time to collect the package at the Club House in Tuaran… A friend collected it for me from the Club House which shows that I have not played until today since my last game somewhere around 4th quarter of last year.

There are few things inside the package… club by-laws, club rules & regulations, golf cap, car sticker, golf shirt and an envelope.

The shirt is size L, not my size… I have to exchange it coz if I were to wear it, it going to be a body-fit kind of shirt. Hope they have the big big size coz last year they run out of the big big size and I end up keeping the L size shirt.

Inside the envelope, it feels like there is a gift card inside. When I open it, the content is actually a membership card… new membership card with beautiful picture on it. This year the card really look neat compared to the previous year which is very plain.

Next, I have to fully utilize my membership… but it looks like I will be playing much lesser this year… 😛
