ICT shopping fiesta gonna start in a few hours… yep… the ICT Fiesta 2010 at Likas Sports Complex will start tomorrow… till Sunday 😛 And at the same time, tomorrow is also Black Friday… it’s shopping time!!!

The booth operators have been busy preparing their stuff from tomorrow opening since this afternoon… so those who are looking for cheap cheap computer stuffs, don’t forget to visit the fiesta… it starts at 10am and closed at 9pm… and shuttle bus also provided from 9.30am till 7.30pm from Wawasan Plaza Bus Terminal… happy Friday shopping 😀

Other than the PS3 games competition, there is also ‘hacking’ competition… so, those who want to test their skills, go for it dude…

A few more days and it will be December… 😛 Felt like the year went so fast… probably coz there are too much work to be completed… need extra time so much right now 😛 further more I also need injury time… feeling feverish at the moment 😛 I really can’t afford all these man…

Bought 2 types of panadol at 7-11 this morning… regular Panadol and Panadol Extend… Taken 2 tablets of Panadal Extend this morning and another 2 tonight.

OK, to comfort myself while waiting this fever to go away… let me think about my camera 😀 The Canon 40D has been with me since March 2008… ermmm… that’s about 2 years and 9 months… 😛 With it, I’ve learned quite a number of tricks… even won a competition 😀 It was the first time I entered a photography competition and won the first prize for RM2K 😉

But now, I felt that it is time to get a more ‘sensitive’ DSLR… the 40D has a maximum of ISO1600… well it can be boosted up to ISO3200 but I just can bear the ‘noise’… not even at ISO1600 when the light is low. So I’m going to dream the Canon 7D to try to forget my fever… dream it until the end of this year and hoping Santa read this… really wish to have that 7D!!!… Else I might just buy a bushnell binoculars instead… much cheaper minus the memory… just have to store the images into my brain instead of the memory card… everything will be close-up into my mind 😛

You have heard the term Black Friday, Thank God It’s Friday, Monday Blues, etc… but recently I came across with a new term, Cyber Monday 😛 For me, from IT point of view, it sounded like Monday has gone virtual into cyber… or to a more extreme point of view it goes something like ‘you arrived to the office on Monday morning and found out that your system has been hacked!’… so there goes your Monday 😛

But NO… it has nothing to do with computers or ICT… it just a marketing term or gimmick to refer the Monday immediately after Black Friday… and Black Friday itself is the Friday immediately after Thanksgiving Day. And today, not only retailers in United States are using the term, it has spread to other countries like United Kingdom, France, Portugal and Germany… and sales at these countries last for eight days…. from the last Monday in November till the fist Monday in December…. but in Malaysia, sales carnival called Mega Sales held from July to September can last eight weeks and not just eight days!!! 😛

To those who want a healthy life… take note, this Sunday, 21st November, there is a world event… the World Walking Day organized by Nestle. I’m not really sure if this event going to be held worldwide simultaneously on that day… but for sure it’s going to be flag off simultaneously in six locations throughout the country… they are:

1. Penampang Sports Complex Stadium (Sabah)
2. Kuching Waterfront (Sarawak)
3. Taman Tasik Tititwangsa (Kuala Lumpur)
4. Polo Ground (Penang)
5. MPK 1 Field Kuantan (Pahang)
6. Taman Sri Stulang (Johor)

It is very easy to participate… all you have to do is be at the location near you before the event start at 6.30am and get a free t-shirt… wow, I’ve been talking about t-shirt for the past few weeks… 😛 By the way, the event will be held from 6.30am to 11.30am and breakfast is provided… so enjoy the free breakfast while having fun with the free t-shirt and healthy life.

I understand that the walk will be a 2km walk… equivalent to 3,000 steps… which is about 30% of the 10,000 steps recommended for a day…

WOW, I did not know that… do you really need to count how many steps you do in a day?… 😆 How many calories get burned with 3,000 steps?… well, if it burned a lot, then this is a good way to burn that extra fat… and you do not need to get that fat burning supplements if you do this 3,000 steps walking every day… 😛

It seems that, this year holiday season gonna be a little bit expensive… it is all because there is a surge in the price of cotton and yarn… so, consumers will have to pay more for new clothes on this coming Christmas and New Year… 😛

The worldwide shortage of raw materials for textiles and garments such as cotton and yarn with higher demand for the coming holiday season has pushed the materials prices up. According to Malaysia Textile Manufacturers Association’s CEO Mr Andrew Hong, prices for raw materials had surged 25% to 40% in the past two months.

So, getting new cloths and gifts this time around will be expensive… will there be less new cloths and gifts for families this year?… 😛 I hope not… if that do happen, other type of gifts will be still the same… so maybe less cloths but more on non-textiles stuff like the anniversary gift ideas at Personal Creations.

OK, what causes the textiles prices increased in the past two months? Blame it to the worldwide weather!!!… the flooding in cotton-producing countries like China, India, United State, Pakistan and Brazil had caused the serious worldwide shortage of the raw materials.

So, there goes my dream Adidas clothing… won’t be able to buy new sports apparels this season… 😛

Last week, on 11 till 13 of November, my office had a two days workshop… I went there a day earlier coz I’m one of the committee member. The workshop was held at INTAN Campus along the Sulaman Highway in Tuaran.

My duties was to design, embroiled and purchase t-shirt for the workshop participants. It was decided that the shirt will be green polo t-shirt. Sound easy… all I have to do is design the logo, the shirt and then get the number of sizes before sending to the shop. Boy… it was not easy… especially getting the sizes from the participants… Luckily I received the final sizes just enough time for the shop to get the shirts ready before the event. So all together I have to get:

12 – XXXL
11 – XXL
62 – XL
74 – L
82 – M

if I was to prepare for petite clothing, I don’t think we can get the cloth ready on time 😛

Getting ready the t-shirts is not the end of it… we have to distribute it during the registration. And during the distribution, problem arises… some did not agree with their sizes… but sorry, I can’t entertain for size changes coz I have to follow what on the list given to me… but at the end, we manage to swap some sizes… and everyone is happy… except during the day, the second day, when all of them wear the shirt… they said don’t go to Giant Supermarket wearing the shirt… LOL… it turn out the colour looks similar to the Giant staffs shirts 😛 And except for one guy given XXXL which can’t fit on him… I think he needed XXXXL… and I suggest to him to try next year Biggest Loser Asia Season 3 😛

There gonna be an ICT fiesta in town at the end of this month… yes the ICT Fiesta 2010 will be held again at Likas Sports Complex from 26 to 28 November… Friday till Sunday. The fiesta will be open from 10.00am till 9.00pm 😛

Good news to those who need transportation to the venue… the organizer, Sabah Computer Society (SCS), will provide free bus transfer from Wawasan Plaza Bus Terminal to Likas Sports Complex from 9.30am till 7.30pm and there will be lucky draw too… 😀

To those who are hunting for cheap ICT stuffs like 5gb promotional usb flash drive, this is the place you don’t want to miss… Like any other ICT expo or fiesta, it’s going to be super-crowded. According to SCS website, there will be about 34 exhibitors during the fiesta… So, expect a heavy crowded fiesta in a small hall.

It is rainy season… and many parts of the world are experiencing floods… very bad flood…  here, it always rain in the evening… sometimes it rains till the next day… but lucky it don’t cause flood… and in the morning the sun will shine… at least it allowed the cloths on the cloths hanger to dry.

Umbrellas and rain coats are important commodity at the moment… everyone needs them… of course hats are equally good… but for schools kids, rain coat is more suitable than hat or cap… not only kids but adults too… 😛 unless there are ladies out there who do not like wearing rain coat but prefers hat… then they can get Women’s Hats instead… 😛

I hope the rain don’t get worse… it already worse in other parts of the country…. other parts of the world… the rain can stay as it is now… rain in the evening… and let the morning have sunshine… 😀

Astro’s DIVA Universal viewers  are talking more about losing weight… so maybe I should do lipofuze review this time… maybe not… but what’s on DIVA Universal?… well that’s where they show The Biggest Loser Asia Season 2… and it’s already episode 9… and they are only left with four contestant in red team and three contestants in blue team.

The competition is getting stiffer and members in each team are starting to back stab each other to stay put to the final episode. When contestant Saw from red team was booted out this week, the red team started breaking apart… we will see that in episode 10. I hate the blue team coz its members are ‘arrogant’… the red team are mo friendly… I hope the red team will win… 😛

The blue team has lost 5 of its members plus 1 from red team which was transferred to them. The red team so far lost 3 members plus 1 which was transferred to blue team. Whenever the red team win challenge or weighing, they shows their sportsmanship by not irritating the other team… but whenever the blue team win, they really don’t have a sportsmanship… they shows their irritating actions… that’s why I want them to lose… 😛

Sometimes while watching some interesting TV show, especially shows on inventions or Do It Yourself (DIY), I’m sure some ever utter the words ‘I can do that too…’, and you also want to do it right after the show 😛 Of course it looks easy… things looks so easy if we watch how things are done in the comfort of our living room… but without the right tools, it will not be easy… so what do you need?… you need a good and right tools… and to get those tools you need some guidance like workshop and home improvement buying guide… or tools and hardware buying guide… coz there are all kind of tools out there if you want to do some handy project yourself.

So, what TV shows I’m talking about?… well the shows are How It’s Made, Mythbusters, How Do They Do It?, The New Inventors… and many more in the Astro’s Discovery Science Channel and Discovery Channel. And in the office, everyone are busy doing spring cleaning… getting new furniture… rearranging furniture, modifying furniture… and these too need power tools…. and I like the cordless power drills coz you can drill holes or drill screws anyway you like without worrying about short cables or no power socket… can tighten screws under the table easily… without power cable 😀

Of course there are other hand tools we used for the spring cleaning… like hammer, adjustable saw knife… they are just light hand tools, not a heavy duty kind of tools… Well, with all this spring cleaning, hopefully we can win or at least get a good place in the ‘beautiful office’ competition this year…
